OC Vice Chair Katrina Foley Funds New Tech Systems for Camino Real Playhouse
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA – Today, Orange County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Katrina Foley presented Camino Real Playhouse in San Juan Capistrano with $103,633 in Fifth District Discretionary Funds for new lighting and sound systems for their new location. This upgraded technology will support the theater’s Audio-Visual Internship program, empowering workforce development in the local arts.
"For more than 36 years, Camino Real Playhouse served as a cultural cornerstone of San Juan Capistrano, dedicated to celebrating the performing arts and bringing our community and youth together,” said Vice Chair Katrina Foley. “This grant from my office ensures their stage remains a place for local artists to tell stories while cultivating San Juan Capistrano’s community spirit.”
Camino Real Playhouse celebrates Opening Night on September 11, 2026, with a performance of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Through educational workshops, youth programs, and mentorship, Camino Real Theatre aims to nurture the next generation of Orange County artists.

Vice Chair Katrina Foley was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2022 to represent the newly established District 5, which includes the cities of Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Dana Point, a large portion of Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, as well as the unincorporated areas of Coto de Caza, Emerald Bay, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, Rancho Mission Viejo, Stonecliffe and Wagon Wheel. This is her second term on the Board of Supervisors, where she previously served District 2.
