OC Vice Chair Katrina Foley Announces $2 Million in Federal Funding to Strengthen Public Safety in Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA – Today, Orange County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Katrina Foley joined Congressman Dave Min, OC Parks, and the OC Sheriff’s Department highlight a federal investment supporting renovations to the Newport Harbor Patrol headquarters. The funding will modernize the existing building, replace aging equipment, invest in modern technology, and enhance building security that strengthens emergency response operations.
“Early last year, my office identified critical public safety projects that lacked funding. Through the Community Project Funding process, we secured $2 million to close those gaps and move the projects forward, strengthening public safety without placing additional pressure on the County budget,” said Vice Chair Katrina Foley. “We appreciate Congressman Dave Min for working across the aisle to invest in a safer Orange County."
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Harbor Patrol provides around the clock law enforcement, marine firefighting, search and rescue, and emergency medical response across Newport Harbor, Dana Point Harbor, Sunset Huntington Harbor, and 48 miles of Orange County coastline.

Vice Chair Katrina Foley was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2022 to represent the newly established District 5, which includes the cities of Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Dana Point, a large portion of Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, as well as the unincorporated areas of Coto de Caza, Emerald Bay, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, Rancho Mission Viejo, Stonecliffe and Wagon Wheel.
