OC Vice Chair Katrina Foley Joins OC Transportation Authority and City of Newport Beach for New Balboa Trolley Launch
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA – Today, OC Board of Supervisors Vice Chair OC Transportation Authority Director Katrina Foley joined the City of Newport Beach to celebrate the launch of the City’s new Balboa Peninsula Trolleys, funded by Measure M2 Project V.
"This new open-air trolley offers residents and visitors a free, convenient way to move around the Peninsula and Lido Marina without the hassle of parking," said Supervisor Katrina Foley. "With Measure M2 Project V funding, including a $2.57 million grant we voted to award from OCTA in September 2024, the Balboa Peninsula Trolleys will continue serving the community through 2031. The new trolley arrives at the perfect time as we head into busy summer months when families, residents, and visitors rely on safe and convenient ways to enjoy the coast."
Trolley Information:
- Service begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day
- Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- Free Parking for trolley users on Mariner’s Mile

Vice Chair Katrina Foley was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2022 to represent the newly established District 5, which includes the cities of Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Dana Point, a large portion of Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, as well as the unincorporated areas of Coto de Caza, Emerald Bay, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, Rancho Mission Viejo, Stonecliffe and Wagon Wheel.
