ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — Vice Chair Katrina Foley released a statement following the recent San Clemente Rail Closure update, in which passenger rail service is set to resume through South Orange County.

“Our team worked diligently to complete and re-open passenger rail service within the planned six weeks since April 28,” said Vice Chair Katrina Foley. “The Orange County Transportation Authority’s coordinated leadership along with tireless efforts by OCTA crews have been instrumental in meeting our deadlines for the initial phase of this emergency response.”

Passenger rail service, including Metrolink and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, is scheduled to fully and safely resume through South Orange County on Saturday, June 7, following the planned completion of construction of the initial phase of emergency efforts to reinforce the most vulnerable areas along the rail line in San Clemente.
