“Orange County is, without a doubt, one of the best places in the country to live, work, and raise a family. My wife and I are raising our kids here. But with high demand comes high costs,” said Representative Derek Tran. “That’s why I’m so proud to present $250,000 to the Orange County Housing Finance Trust to build 2,700 affordable housing units in Orange County. Californians are asking us to solve the housing crisis, and we’re stepping up to the plate, because every Southern California family deserves a safe, stable place they can call home.”

HR7148 was signed into law on February 3, 2026. The final bill includes $250,000 for Orange County Housing Finance Trust affordable housing developments. Part of a more than $14 million funding package, this investment ensures Orange County remains safe, healthy, and economically thriving for Southern California Residents.
