Orange County, California – Today, Supervisor Katrina Foley and the Orange County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved two public health initiatives to better protect Orange County residents, including communicating their opposition regarding the placement of Sexually Violent predators in Orange County and creating a “Safe Zone” to protect families during child custody situations and residents purchasing goods from e-commerce sites.

Orange County, California – Today, Supervisor Foley and the Board of Supervisors unanimously endorsed three state legislative proposals to help address the rising epidemic of fentanyl in the County of Orange. This comes after Supervisor Foley’s Thursday March 3, 2022 public hearing on the Fentanyl crisis in Orange County alongside Chairman Doug Chaffee, that included testimony from law enforcement, public health experts, and members of the public.

Orange County, California – Supervisor Foley attended the March 15, 2022, Veterans Housing Summit hosted by the Housing Working Group of Veterans at the UCI School for Extended Education. Supervisor Foley announced her ongoing efforts to connect Veterans, active duty and reserve service members, and military family members to innovative mental health services, including Be Well, expanded housing resources like Project Homekey, rental units accepting vouchers, and enhanced workforce development programs in conjunction with the County.

Orange County, California – Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley today announced that the County of Orange is awarded $6 million in funding under Round Two of the State Homekey program to acquire a motel and convert it into a 21-unit, permanent supportive housing project. This project shares a courtyard with The Tahiti, a 60-unit Homekey Round 1 project in the City of Stanton.

Orange County, CA – Today, Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA) Director and Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley, announced the approval of low Carbon Transit Operations initiatives for OC Bus Transit Projects. Specifically, Supervisor Foley and the OCTA Board voted to authorize the use of $8,633,000 in Low Carbon Transit Operations Program funds for the Youth Ride Free Program, along with $1,553,772 in fiscal year 2021-22 Low Carbon Transit Operations Program funds for the Bravo!

Orange County, CA – Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley hosted the first annual Women Making a Difference awards ceremony at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana on March 31, 2022. Attended by over 200 guests including honorees, community leaders, members of the public, judges and elected officials, this event honored the tremendous contributions from the women who make a difference to improve our County as neighbors, friends, coworkers, business owners, caregivers, community-leaders and residents.

As part of her pandemic recovery plan, Supervisor Katrina Foley is hosting a series of career fairs throughout our County. On Thursday April 21, 2022, she’s hosting a free career fair where job seekers can connect with employers, submit resumes directly, interview in real time, and streamline finding their dream job or get hired on the spot! In addition to the 104 employers hiring at the event, there will be 3 Veterans service agencies on site, including Helmets to Hardhats which specializes in transitioning skilled Veterans into jobs and apprenticeships in construction.
